This is my writing of our touch tournament this year.

Touch Champions

The bell rang for home time and it was an exciting moment for our under thirteen Tautoro touch team because it was our final touch game at Lindvart Park, Kaikohe.
I couldn’t wait to get there. I happily made my way to the bus and sat down on the seat waiting for my friend to come sit by me.

We drove from Tautoro to Kaikohe/town and we got dropped off at Northland  College. Once we got off the bus we walked our way down to Lindvart Park. As soon as we got there we waited for our coach to arrive. While we were waiting we played around with the rest of Tautoro’s students from school.

Finally he came, we ran to his car and we put on our touch uniforms patiently waiting for the rest of our team to arrive. A few minutes later it was time to get out on the field and play our hardest.

Guess what? The team we were meant to verse didn’t turn up so we didn’t get to play our final game of touch for this year so we just got stuck in and got ready for prize giving.

Our team got called up three times which means we were awarded three trophies which I thought was really awesome. I thought we did great this year in our touch tournament. To me touch was really fun and exciting even though I thought it was a struggle at first but I got use to it.

THE END.

#level 1. This is my Tynker project about our trip to the Adventure Forest. Use the arrow keys to collect the awards. and watch out for the evil villains.

Sprints

My heart was beating softly
My legs were shaking
I’m ready to sprint my hardest
I stepped up to the starting line
Got into position.
CLAP!! The clappers go off

I zoomed off like a Cheetah
From the sides the crowd cheers loud
The race was almost over
I got to the halfway point
picking up my pace

I caught up to a sprinter
Zooming past her like lightning
I made it to the end
Coming in first place.

Long jump

I step up to the line
Starting off with a sprint
Speeding down the lane.
Feeling desperate to jump the furthest.

I took the final step pushing off hard
Soaring to the sky.
There’s not a better feeling
Then to feel like I can fly.
As I suspend gliding in the air
Thinking just jump as far as I can.

I know I've tried my best
I have set my goal
And I come in with a big win
FIRST.

This is my report writing about a disaster. It tells what it is, what it does and where it occurs.

What is a tsunami?.

A tsunami is  a group of waves that come one after the other,  generated in any ocean or other body of the water by a disturbance such as an earthquake a volcanic eruption or a meteorite impact. Undersea earthquakes, which typically occur at boundaries between Earth's tectonic plates, cause the water above to be moved up or down.
What can a tsunami do?.
A tsunami is a massive wave that can be really dangerous. Tsunamis can also unfortunately kill a lot of people, It destroys things that are in it’s path when it hits land and it can destroy city's, buildings, homes, shops, roads and lots more.
Tsunamis can reach up to a enormous height of 30m/100 feet. Tsunamis will happen most often on the Pacific Ocean ring of fire because of the active Pacific Rim from the undersea earthquake.

Tsunamis cause the water level and the ocean current to rise slowly and dangerous waves to follow the first tsunami wave, trapping people who return thinking the tsunami is over.

Remember a tsunami is a series of waves that happens in any ocean.  It is really dangerous.

On Wednesday me and my buddy Shilaine made Baklava and Greek phyllo desserts.

The phyllo pastry we made was quite difficult to make because we had to make shore it was thin as glad rap. But at least we tried our best and we got our job done.

This is my report writing about what happened in Christchurch during the second earthquake. My report writing includes an introduction, classification, description and a conclusion.

The second Earthquake in Christchurch.

On the 22nd of February 2011 at 12:51 pm during lunch time,  Christchurch was hit by a BIG!! 6.3 earthquake. It was centered 10km southeast of the city at a depth 5km. 185 people were killed  from the Christchurch earthquake, and 164 people were seriously injured. There was major widespread damage around the southeast of Christchurch.

The second earthquake caused more damage and reported deaths then the first earthquake in September 2010. A lot more aftershocks were felt and there was a lot of liquefaction covering the roads and sinking cars and buildings through the southeast of Christchurch.
Soil liquefaction describes a phenomenon whereby a saturated or partially saturated soil substantially loses strength and stiffness in response to an applied stress, usually earthquake shaking or other sudden change in stress condition, causing it to behave like a thick liquid.

The Earthquake damaged a lot of things.  Power lines, buildings, and roads and owners homes were damaged or badly broken from liquefaction and from the earthquake.  These damaged buildings laid around for many days and homeowners couldn’t get rid of it quickly enough to restore normal life.

Who helped cleaned up the city?.

People all around New Zealand helped clean up the city. There was around 800 people from the farm's army team who came with their farm machines and muscle to help clean up the city.  Teams of students helped to clean the liquefaction on the streets too..

This is my recount writing about the Kapa Haka Culture festival.

It was a warm sunny Thursday morning, as I got ready for the day. My brothers and I  walked down the driveway and waited for the bus to arrive.

While we were waiting for the bus to come I had realized that we had our Kapa Haka performance.

I said to myself YES! I can’t wait to do Kapa Haka. I was feeling excited but nervous at the same time. I was shivering and shaking and hoping that our Kapahaka group would do great.

The bus  came we got to school and about ten minutes later the bell rang brrrring! Brrrring!!.

Our school walked over to the library and got into  position  we had our quick practice and the bell rang again for morning tea.

After morning tea we were all rushing to get ready The girls rushed into room 5 and the boys hurried into room 4 to get changed into our Kapa Haka uniforms.

We were all ready, waiting for the bus to come and take us to Northland College. Some of us went with Whaea Gaylene in the car.

We got to Northland College and we made it just in time our whole Kapa Haka group quickly went to the back of the Northland College hall and waited for another group to finish their performance.

We were all squashed up in a small bathroom waiting to go on stage. We all got into our position and waited for the curtains to open.

The curtains opened and there sat my nan on the front seats by Whaea Tracy our principal.

We started our Kapa Haka performance by singing Te Matua. I thought that we all sounded loud and clear I was feeling so happy I felt so proud of everyone.

We had finished our first waiata and came in with nice happy action song. I was feeling more excited because the boys were coming up from the back of the stage to do the Haka.
I was shaking and I had quesse bumps all over me.

The boys were so loud I couldn't even hear myself singing it was just like WOOOOW!!! We're so amazing. I could hear everyone cheering and clapping for our school we were so awesome.

We had made it down to our last song and throughout our whole performance I thought that we did a really great job. I thought we did great in our singing and I thought that the boys were really loud during the haka and I also thought that everyone did the actions pretty well to.
We finished our performance and we happily walked off stage and and went outside to wait for the bus and the bus driver drove us back to school.

We had a great Thursday I had lots of fun on stage and I had a great rest of day hanging out with my friends.

List 3 things that you think you did well in this text.
1  I think that I did well in in my ideas.
2 I thought that I had a pretty good introduction.
3 And I thought that I had a great ending.

What do you need to work on to improve your writing?
I think that I need to work on making more sense in my sentences
