This is my recount writing about the Kapa Haka Culture festival.

It was a warm sunny Thursday morning, as I got ready for the day. My brothers and I  walked down the driveway and waited for the bus to arrive.

While we were waiting for the bus to come I had realized that we had our Kapa Haka performance.

I said to myself YES! I can’t wait to do Kapa Haka. I was feeling excited but nervous at the same time. I was shivering and shaking and hoping that our Kapahaka group would do great.

The bus  came we got to school and about ten minutes later the bell rang brrrring! Brrrring!!.

Our school walked over to the library and got into  position  we had our quick practice and the bell rang again for morning tea.

After morning tea we were all rushing to get ready The girls rushed into room 5 and the boys hurried into room 4 to get changed into our Kapa Haka uniforms.

We were all ready, waiting for the bus to come and take us to Northland College. Some of us went with Whaea Gaylene in the car.

We got to Northland College and we made it just in time our whole Kapa Haka group quickly went to the back of the Northland College hall and waited for another group to finish their performance.

We were all squashed up in a small bathroom waiting to go on stage. We all got into our position and waited for the curtains to open.

The curtains opened and there sat my nan on the front seats by Whaea Tracy our principal.

We started our Kapa Haka performance by singing Te Matua. I thought that we all sounded loud and clear I was feeling so happy I felt so proud of everyone.

We had finished our first waiata and came in with nice happy action song. I was feeling more excited because the boys were coming up from the back of the stage to do the Haka.
I was shaking and I had quesse bumps all over me.

The boys were so loud I couldn't even hear myself singing it was just like WOOOOW!!! We're so amazing. I could hear everyone cheering and clapping for our school we were so awesome.

We had made it down to our last song and throughout our whole performance I thought that we did a really great job. I thought we did great in our singing and I thought that the boys were really loud during the haka and I also thought that everyone did the actions pretty well to.
We finished our performance and we happily walked off stage and and went outside to wait for the bus and the bus driver drove us back to school.

We had a great Thursday I had lots of fun on stage and I had a great rest of day hanging out with my friends.
